How The Holy Hell Did Bruce Springsteen Get A DWI For Blowing A .02 (Legal Limit .08)...IN NEW JERSEY???

NYP - Bruce Springsteen was allegedly busted in Sandy Hook, New Jersey, when he pulled over to take pictures with fans — and then took a shot of tequila offered by one of them in full view of the cops, a music industry insider said. The “Born to Run” icon, 71, had been riding his motorcycle on the peninsula on Nov. 14 when he “was spotted by fans who asked him to pull over and take some pictures,” according to a source close to Springsteen.  “Bruce stopped, took the pictures, then a fan offered him a shot of liquor, which he took, while sitting on his bike, which was stationary,” the source said. “Park Police saw what happened and they immediately pulled Springsteen over as he drove away.” The Post has not been able to immediately verify this account with law enforcement. Springsteen was charged with DWI, reckless driving and consuming alcohol in a closed area, a spokesperson for the National Park Service said. The Asbury Park Press reported Springsteen’s blood-alcohol content was 0.02 — just a quarter of New Jersey’s legal limit — when he was arrested. The legal threshold in New Jersey is .08, which the outlet said calls into question why Springsteen was charged with driving while intoxicated.

Bruce Springsteen got arrested…in New Jersey? For something less than inciting the Apocalypse itself? Blasphemy, I tells ya! BLASPHEMY!!!

I gotta admit, when I first heard The Boss got pinched in his home Garden State I assumed things would've had to been bad for it to happen. Like, REAL BAD. We're talking double fisting handles while driving a dumptruck through a parade of strollers and puppies type stuff for someone to actually put cuffs on The God Of The Garden State. Or you'd at least have to think Bruce was driving and counting the beers chugged like he was on the old Ben Stiller show (actually funny):

But Springsteen's BAC was .02. He took a shot after pulling over on his hog to greet fans (which is the most Boss thing ever) adn that apparently was…that? The legal limit is .08…and Bruce Springsteen still got arrested…IN NEW JERSEY. Incredible. Freaking Bruce could run for the legitimate Lord Of Jersey and get 99% of the vote. Look, the cop/cops were just doing their jobs. Good on them. And as someone who was previously a fugitive for 7 years on the lamb from the Avalon PD, I know NJ cops don't take no shit. But if Bruce Springsteen could get arrested and taken into custody in the state of New Jersey (a land where he is a living, breathing Deity) for THAT, then anything is on the table. It's like if Michael Jordan being arrested in Chicago for smoking cigars on school property or Jared Carrabis gets pinched while proclaiming Prima Nocta on every customer at Kowlhoons in Saugus. Sure, it's technically against the law, but you'd assume that there would be some sort of home field advantage in a few situations. 

The whole situation seems…odd. I'm sure more will come out, but just glad to hear everything and everyone is safe. Long Live The Boss.
